Ashtyn is 2

Ashtyn and her mommy met me today and I was so surprised to see her. She's so much bigger than a year ago...she's got long hair, a two year old personality and was cracking me up! You might recognize her from the front of my website...those were her one year pictures. We went to one of my new favorite locations to shoot...

Logan, Ella & Lucy

Tuesday morninig I met these three and their mama at the park for some long overdue pictures! They were troopers and I now feel a bit bad for teasing Logan about having "girlfriends" but look at that smile!

Miss Lucy was such a star that she quickly wore out and had to take a little nap...but I love what we got! How sweet!!!

Happy 50th wedding anniversary...

..what an amazing thing to celebrate! Though large family groups aren't what I normally shoot, I find them entertaining, intriguing, and valuable. What a crazy thing (these days) that they've been married to each other for 50 years!?!?! And even cooler, that their whole family gathers together to celebrate it. All of their children, grandchildren and even a few siblings joined up this past weekend to honor these two. It was an absolutely chaotic day at Elmwood, but we were able to find a few uninhabited spots. Here are just a few from the park.

Finally, the horse shoot....

I have been talking with Kathy about getting pictures of her oldest daughter, Karly and her horse for what feels like FOREVER, and for some reason or another (mostly weather related) we've had to cancel...and last Wednesday night before I headed out to Colorado, we did them! This was my first family shoot with a horse and I can honestly say, I has so much fun doing it. Apparently the horse, Petey, was being naughty, but I thought it was all great! Here are just a few from the shoot.

K is for Katherine

This is a special little girl to me cause her mommy and I have been friends since elementary school. I was bummed I wasn't able to photograph her wedding because I was due with my second son, Leo. I feel so privileged to be able to capture their new little girl during her first 9 days of life. She came over last week and we spent a bit of time "playing" with Kate. Here's a few favs...

Megan & Mark l 7.11

Whoops, I didn't get this beautiful wedding blogged!!! I have to share a few and just say...isn't she gorgeous??? I love that she basically said to me during engagement photos last fall, you have your work cut out for you because I'm NOT photogenic...well, you be the judge.... Oh, and watch their slideshow if you have time!

And here's the slideshow from their wedding day.

Happy 70th!!!

What a great excuse for family pictures, turining 70. The best part about this was a.) it was a surprise until that weekend that they had me scheduled to come and shoot family pictures this weekend for their mom who is 70, and b.) it is the first time the whole family has been together, ever. It was a beautiful afternoon and John and Laura have the perfect backyard for it. I would love to have a backyard(backdrop) as beautiful as this.
Not too shabby for 8 kiddos!
Then of course one of the little ones chased the uncles along with his dad!

Jake and Monique

One of my husbands closest friends from high school got married last month in Canada where he was able to join in the festivities...this past weekend they celebrated with the rest of their family and friends in Omaha including a "bus tour" and a party at the Dundee Dell. I was NOT working and had a wonderful time! ...I did bring my camera...of course!!!

a walk in the park...

I met Christy and her family at Elmwood park this weekend for some long overdue family pictures. Her girls were adorably sweet and quite and I loved how they coordinated. Taylor was a great big sister and Addisyn had the most adorable pigtails! So cute!!! We walked around Elmwood and had to get the grotto ones done quick as they were setting up for a wedding!

Kaydence

Kaydence is a new little client of mine, we also met at Regency last week and as one year olds do, she had a mind of her own. She wanted to play with the ducks in the water, the bubbles mommy brought and really anything that didn't involve getting her picture taken. I was able to grab a few, especially with mommy and daddy. I loved how sparkly blue her eyes were....here's a peek!

Collin & Elana

I met this family at Regency Lake the other night to do pictures of the kiddos. I hadn't seen Elana since she was just a few day old for her newborn shoot, and Collin is getting so big as well! It was a perfect evening for pictures and the kids did great. It took a bit for Elana to get used to me, but with a little help from mom(and bouncing) we got smiles from her too!

Ashley & Luke

This is an adorable couple! I met Ashley and Luke out at Lanoha last Thursday night and I was so relieved the weather cooperated for us. I really enjoyed hanging out with them and laughing...they are so fun together. They brought a few outfits to experiment and I found it funny that the last one, was the one she wasn't sure if we should even do...I LOVE it! Here's just a few of my favorites....
